Smell not THAT bad, don’t forget to transition b/t shampoos. Conditioner useless.
Where to start.... So I have always had Seb Derm but as soon as I moved to Florida in 2017 it was the absolute worst it had ever been! I had insane red itchy hot spots and disgusting huge flakes of skin just stuck to my scalp that were so noticeable, I have super thick hair but it was constantly falling out! I had to shower at least once a day just to keep it some what under control pain wise. Then a miracle happened! My friend introduced me to Monat Shampoo in mid-2017 and it really seemed to be helping, the redness and pain had subsided but the giant flakes were still an issue. About a year ago when they changed their packaging I think they changed their formula because I started having the same issues or maybe my hair just got used to it and it was no longer effective! So I was on a mission to find something that actually worked! I spent weeks researching shampoos (mind you I’ve even tried prescription ones to no avail) and then I kept seeing this one on lists over and over again, The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo. People raved about how it helped their seb derm, the only real down side I kept reading about was the smell but I’m like heck, if it’ll help me poor head I’ll try anything! So I bit the bullet and purchased The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo and The Body Shop Ginger Conditioner. It arrives, honestly, I don’t know what everyone is complaining about it really is not that bad... it just kind of smells like ones of those ginger candies, slightly medicinal but not overwhelming. For the first couple of weeks I alternated using the Monat shampoo and the Ginger shampoo and conditioner (every other ginger shampoo) and then just the ginger shampoo, completely phasing out the Monat. And OMG let me tell you! My flakes are gone not even a little one, no redness and now I can go more than 2-3 days between washing my hair!! I even use it on my eyebrows when they start to flake up as well! I have been using this shampoo since the end of May and I’m so happy it’s worked for my Seb Derm! But now... the not so great... again, I have really thick hair so I feel like I use quite a bit of the product but there is still a little left in the 13.5oz after 2+ months so that’s not too bad. It’s not moisturizing at all, my hair isn’t brittle but it isn’t particularly soft either, and the conditioner is completely useless. I’m still using the Monat leave in conditioner until I find something better just to be able to get the knots out of my hair. And because it’s not moisturizing it’s doesn’t add the weight which brings your hair down so in turn it actually makes it thicker and more fluffy especially in this Florida humidity! But with all that being said! I still would rather not have a horrible itchy, painful scalp with disgustingly huge pieces of skin falling off my scalp! I’m so glad I found this product! Anyone recommend a conditioner that won’t wreck my progress?

Effective, pretty, no complaints!
This is the only shampoo that calms my dry, itchy scalp. I've tried head and shoulders, t-gel, basically everything short of prescription - but using this every other day (every time I shampoo) leaves my scalp like a normal person's. The effect on my wavy hair is pretty much the same as other mild shampoos.I quite like the smell, though I love ginger and wouldn't call it overly ginger-y (more like ginger-ale-y?). It's polarizing, through, so if you're not a fan, you'll be pleased to know it doesn't stick around after the shower at all.The bottle has recently been redesigned and I find it much easier to hold in the shower (not to mention attractive). For any who are wondering - the product is the same, no worries!

Tried something else and regretted it.
I originally bought this shampoo in February because I love the smell of ginger. After the first time I used it my scalp was less itchy . After using for a week I noticed the scabby flaking scap cleared up noticeably. After 2 weeks my hair was shiny and my scalp was clear. I have been using this shampoo and conditioner every since until june 27 I left it at my mom's house. I decided to try a different more expensive ginger shampoo. Molten Brown ginger extract. Within 7 days my scalp was itching and flaking. I ordered Body Shoppe ginger shampoo and conditioner. Used it today and one use and I already feel the relief. Lesson learned. Doesn't need to be more expensive or in a fancy bottle. If it works, it works and that's what is important

Reduces scalp psoriasis, doesn’t cure
I have had scalp psoriasis my whole life and tried just about every product you can think of. This doesn’t get rid of it completely, but definitely reduces it overall. I was out of town for 2 weeks and started having bad flakes, itching, and pain. Since I got home I used it twice and it already has significantly reduced the discomfort. Would definitely recommend to try.

Scalp psoriasis is gone!
I stumbled upon a recommendation for this shampoo in the comment section of a TikTok for scalp psoriasis. I have tried all the smelly medicated shampoos and they work temporarily, but then my scalp seems to be immune to it and I have to start over. I have been using this for about 2 months now and I’m maybe halfway through the bottle (so bang for your buck!) and I seriously have little to no flakes whatsoever. I was to the point where I was washing daily just to get some relief, but now I can go 2-3 days (my hair is naturally oily, so this is big for me). I seriously could cry at how much this shampoo has saved my scalp. I just bought the conditioner, too, and I also love it!

My head loves this stuff-nothing short of a miracle for me
For years, since childhood, I had an uncomfortable scalp. Thought it was citric acid or something harsh. My scalp was tight, sometimes itchy, sometimes red, etc. It was miserable. I bled during perms!Found this, thanks to my sister, and my head has been HAPPY since!!!! I have literally NEVER found anything this good for my head. I'm impressed with the way my scalp has responded to the shampoo! After the very first use, the dandruff disappeared! I have suffered serious flakes and oily scalp 50 years after using a shampoo advertised as a scalp deep cleaner. Some ingredient kicked off an allergic reaction no previous treatment helped. Add on Seborrhic Dermatitis as one of the side diagnosis associated with diabetes and Parkinson's Disease and my dandruff was out for control!I found the shampoo randomly searching for a miracle.
